Beauty Pro Profile - Rachael Lutze

Meet Rachael Lutze, the Super Woman / General Manager we are lucky to call ours. We hear time and time again from our trade customers that they'd be lost without the product knowledge and passion Rach offers. In celebration of International Women's Day, we sat down with this leading lady to learn a little more about her.

Q: Could you briefly describe the path that brought you to Le Beauty? What was your career background prior?

A: I am an Elly Lukas trained beauty therapist, previously I worked for skin clinics and day spas, as well as ran my own beauty therapy business and had my own makeup range. I was then given the opportunity to teach Beauty Therapy for Elly Lukas which I did for 4 years, before joining the Le Beauty family.

Q: What has been your greatest personal and professional achievement?

A: My greatest professional achievement was being able to travel to some of the world’s leading day spas as an Elly Lukas educator; this included Paris, London, Dubai, Hamilton Island and Hayman Island. Seeing what the world has to offer in the beauty industry was truly eye-opening. My passion as a beauty therapist is knowing the power that you have in your hands and the ability to be able to change someone’s life with that. Whether that is by raising their confidence by improving their skin or helping them to relax with a simple scalp massage.

My greatest personal achievement would be learning to lead a ‘normal’ life living with Hashimoto’s disease, this has been greatly possible with the ongoing support and flexibility of my Le Beauty family.

Q: What has been your greatest career challenge?

A: My greatest career challenge was actually growing with Le Beauty and learning to let go of control and allow others to help. When I started with Le Beauty we were a team of 4 people, we are now a team of over 20 people. As a 'perfectionist', for a long time, I tried to do it all, learning to delegate tasks to the team has been so rewarding as now I get to see others grow and flourish on their career journey.

Q: Is there a woman in your life who inspires you? If so, who and why?

A: As cliché as this might sounds, my Mum! She is such a hard worker, for all of my childhood I remember her working back to back double shifts, and never complaining. If there is a job to be done, she will just put her head down and do it. I remember someone once saying to me, after meeting my Mum, "I now understand where you get your hard work ethic from".

Q: With a largely female staff, how does LB support women in business?

A: What makes Le Beauty such a unique working environment is that we truly are a family! In reality, we spend more time with our work family then we do our blood relatives, so ensuring that all personalities and characters fit into our team dynamic is our number 1 priority when recruiting, even over skillset. We also invest a lot into out of work social activities, this is when a team really has a solid chance to bond!

Q: Do you have a favourite inspirational quote that is empowering you'd like to share with other women?

A: Again, I know it's cliché, but I truly believe it, "love what you do, and who you do it with, and you'll never work a day in your life." We face many challenges and obstacles as a team, but being such a close-knit family and loving the company that we're in, makes it worth it!
